My Story

Buongiorno, my name is Chiara.

I am Italian, relocated to Australia about 15 years ago and moved to the beautiful Illawarra about 5 years ago.

I have over 20 years of experience in Italian tutoring.

Graduated in Foreign Languages and Cultures at the University of Rome La Sapienza, I have been for many years (and still am!) a Foreign Languages student myself, knowing well how hard it is to communicate in another language.

I love my Language, I love my Culture and I love passing them to my students.

That is why I always do my best to make my lessons enjoyable and fulfilling.

"I enjoy the dynamics of the face-to-face Italian class with Chiara.

It is a small group class and each class member brings their experience of the Italian language (limited or familial) As we learn more vocabulary and grammatical rules the discussion generated is a great learning tool and gives a better understanding of Italian.

The language comes alive with the games Chiara has us playing in Italian which helps us cement our new knowledge.

The listening and oral will only improve my conversation skills for our upcoming trip to Italy.

Every lesson is very interesting, covering all the ways we learn a new language- speaking/singing, writing and listening and of course social interactions.

The grammatical component of the Italian language is also very important. This is gradually introduced, and emailed to the participants the following day, giving plenty of opportunity to practice at home thus reinforcing our memory in a systematic manner.

"We're just finishing up an eight week European holiday, in which we spent almost half in Italy (mainly Sicily).
